It is situated at a distance of 12kms to the South of Maldah, on the India-Bangladesh border. The place houses several historical architectures and significant places of the 14th and 15th centuries. It was the capital of Bengal till 1565 AD. Gour is popular for Barodouari. It is famous among tourists for its Indo-Arabic architecture and ornamental stone carvings. Apart from it, some of the other popular places are Firoz Minar, Luko Churi gate, etc.

It is one of the largest mosques in India situated in Pandua. It was built by Sultan Sikander Shah in 1369. Qadam Rasul Mosque is a single-domed square-shaped building situated in Gour. It was built by Sultan Nusrat Shah in 1530. This place houses a verandah that looks like a barrel-vaulted corridor. The four black marble towers on the four corners of Qadam Rasul Mosque are what make it unique. The term is taken from the Arabic phrase ‘Qadam-e-Rasul’ which means ‘Footprint of the messenger.’

It is around 36kms from Maldah town and is situated in Habibpur. Jagjivanpur is famous for housing the structural remains of the Buddhist Monastery, Nandadirghi Vihar. This place became an attraction when in 1987 a copper plate inscription was discovered. It leads to the Pala Emperor Mahendrapaladeva. Many moulds have been discovered in the area later and out of them, the most popular one is Tulabhita which is almost 5 meters long.

Pandua is situated around 18kms from Maldah town. It is famous for its historical significance for being the first capital city of the Bengal Sultanate. Kutubshashi Masjid and Eklakhi Mausoleum are two of the most popular attraction points among tourists. These monuments are famous for their ancient wall art and architecture it provides.

One of the famous destinations of Maldah is its museum which is situated on Bandh Road. Adina Deer Park in Malda district of West Bengal, 21 kilometres from the Malda City. The park is an important breeding centre for cheetal or spotted deer in the state and sometimes they overflow in number. The park also has a nilgai population. However, in spite of its name, the deer park is a small fraction of the area and protected within an orchard plantation. The woods are rich in butterfly and birds, specially Asian openbill, paradise flycatcher, prinia, oriole, fish eagle, etc.
